Tasty Apple Treats

Apples are so plentiful this time of year. Every week seems to bring another sale on apples at one of the local markets. Apples are so good for you! An excellent source of fiber and vitamin C, Apples are an easy and nutritious choice for anyone wanting to eat more fruit!




Try this easy dip and fruit plate the next time you entertain:

What you'll need:

8 ounces yogurt, low-fat vanilla

2 Tablespoons orange juice, 100% juice, frozen concentrate, thawed

1 Tablespoon lime juice

1/2 Tablespoon brown sugar

4 red apples - cored and sliced

1 pear - cored and sliced

1 small bag of baby carrots ( organic if you can find them )

1 bunch celery - cut into 3 or 4 inch pieces.

Combine yogurt, orange juice concentrate, lime juice and brown sugar. Mix together well in a small bowl.

Put the dip bowl in the middle of a large serving plate and surround with the sliced fruit and veggies.

Enjoy this easy and nutritious snack while you're watching your favorite flick this weekend! Your family is sure to love it!
